Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brothers Big Sisters Australia works with disadvantaged young people aged between 7-17, many of whom are experiencing marginalisation or social isolation. Through a long-term one-to-one community mentoring program, Big Brothers Big Sisters equips young people with the tools they need to build resilience and strengthen their emotional wellbeing.
2022 Pitch
Funds Raised: $52,000
Previous mentee and now the Online Coordinator & Youth Ambassador for Big Brothers Big Sisters, Emily pitched for funding to grow and expand the reach of Ourspace, Big Brothers Big Sisters’ online mentoring platform.
The Impact…
The TFN funding helped Big Brothers Big Sisters to offer a reliable hybrid form of mentoring both online and face to face. It provides an option for young people to connect with their mentor when face to face is not possible, tackling the issue of isolation and improve wellbeing. What they have also found exciting about the platform, is the option it provides to connect isolated young people with disability.
