A quality education is a fundamental human right and it can only be a digital education in today's world.
LiteHaus International is a Queensland-based organisation that exists to bridge 'digital divides and digitise dreams' throughout Australia and internationally. The digital divide is by no means limited to developing countries as tens of thousands of students across Australia, particularly in rural and remote regions, do not own a personal digital device at home.
2021 Pitch
Funds Raised: $44,100
CEO and Founder Jack pitched at the June 1st virtual event for funds to support their Digital Inclusion Program to provide personal digital devices to marginalised students across rural and remote Queensland.
The Impact
The funding raised at TFN has made 829 laptop deliveries possible, supporting 1,400 young people by building their digital capability. Entire communities across regional Queensland have been empowered by their youth being digitally equipped and capable - unlocking the power to dream.
The impact of these devices in broadening students horizons can not be overstated, as this beneficiary story supports, "Inspired by owning his own computer, Student A googled university and discovered what he wanted to do with his life - electrical engineering. He's now in his second year of university and has just passed his laptop (the first he ever owned) onto his sister...he's built his own computer now. His teachers tell us that he is an inspiration to his quiet little community as somebody who has gone on to do something special."
