InCharge
Imagine a life where the only people who related to you were paid to do so. There are thousands of people with disabilities in Australia who experience this every day. They live life as a client, not as a genuine contributor. It's a tragic waste of their enormous potential. At InCharge we're out to change this with the Ally Project, which builds game-changing relationships between people with and without disabilities in a local community. Over 8 months the project builds teams around a number of participants with disabilities. Each participant's team actively creates opportunities for them to form friendships, find employment, and to uncover ways to meaningfully contribute to the life of their community. The project also introduces participants to an ally. An ally stands beside people and helps with the hard work of forging new opportunities. Their job is to bring to life exciting possibilities.
