Bright Futures Child Aid & Development Fund Australia
Bright Futures operates in four countries – India, Pakistan, Kenya and Uganda. Bright Futures works with its overseas development partners in each building individual and community capacity with a focus on the sustainable alleviation of poverty. The programs delivered by Bright Futures and its partners touch the lives of thousands of people each day and include schooling, health clinics, maternity and birthing services, clean water projects, vocational training focused on the empowerment of women, and savings and self-help groups.
2023 Pitch
Funds Raised: $58,400
Sarah the Chair of Bright Futures pitched to raise funds for The Nawiri Mama (Flourishing Mother) Project which is focused on training mothers of children with a disability living in the Marurui and adjacent slums in Nairobi, Kenya in basic physiotherapy skills to enable them to better contribute to the development of their child. The program also provides the mothers with vocational and business skills training.
The Impact…
The funds provided have enabled therapeutic, vocational training and program related equipment to be purchased to outfit the centre and this included physiotherapy aids and equipment, vocational skills training equipment which is essential for the running of their social and economic empowerment programs. 200 mothers and their children were supported from the funds.
