BackTrack Youth Works
BackTrack Works facilitates the employment of vulnerable young people who experience complex, intersecting barriers that marginalise them from the workforce. Operating in the New England region and beyond, BackTrack Works supports their incremental transition into the workforce through a combination of accredited and non-accredited training, practical skill development, traineeships and employment opportunities via commercial and community-based contracts.
2022 Pitch
Funds Raised: $81,563
Marcus, the CEO of BackTrack Youth Works pitched to employ a full-time Tenterfield-based youth worker to support the growing number of young people they are supporting in the region.
The Impact…
The TFN funding has specifically supported the youthwork component of what they do, and helped to grow the social enterprise in Tenterfield. BackTrack Works were able to employ a multi-skilled youth worker, arrange transport for young people when required for jobs and invest in on ground activity throughout the year. Just 12 months on, they now have a number of young people signed up for Traineeships in Rural Operations, we have 2 part time Youth Workers and a part time Operations Manager on board, a regular and committed cohort of young people heavily engaged in their programs and a broad range of Works contracts to offer them meaningful training and employment pathways.
