Zanders Community Education: The Life Skills Program empowers and develops talented Aboriginal students as future leaders in a cross-cultural environment by promoting whole-of-life learning, and building participants' capacity to take control of their lives and contribute to their communities. Disadvantage is passed down through generations so if we want to really address the inter-generational problems facing Australia's Indigenous communities we have to short circuit that process and turn it on its head. Currently, education is the single strongest link to better outcomes across just about every aspect of life. We know that education makes a difference to life outcomes for young people of any racial background but the statistics are clear that it makes an even bigger difference to life outcomes for our Aboriginal young people.
