Aminata Maternal Foundation is an Australian not-for-profit organisation that was established to end infant and maternal mortality in Sierra Leone. They focus on safe delivery and provide the best quality maternal health services, along with the creation of sustainable communities by educating women and giving them the right tools to empower themselves.

Aminata Maternal Foundation’s young, passionate Founder Aminata pitched to reduce maternal mortality in Sierra Leone. This helped provide quality maternal health services and education to women in Sierra Leone giving them the right tools to empower themselves.
The Impact…
The funds meant that fewer mothers and babies die in childbirth thanks to Sierra Leone having more qualified midwives. Aminata Maternal Foundation were able to equip more midwives with knowledge and skills that helped us with their mission.
• 10 midwives were trained to reach their qualification.
• 60 student midwives completed high-quality ‘hands-on’ training.
• 1500 mothers experienced safe delivery at the Aberdeen Women’s Centre facilitated by trainee
midwives.
• 1500 babies were delivered safely at the Aberdeen Women’s Centre.
