Satellite Foundation
Satellite Foundation provides holistic support to children, young people, and their families where a parent has a mental illness. They run specialised programs, personalised support and opportunities that equip them with the life-skills to forge their place in the world.
2017 Pitch
Funds raised: $30,000
At TFN Live in Melbourne, Satellite Foundation pitched for funds to launch a young leader and mentoring program called SELFies: Satellite Engaged Leaders of the Future, which trains young people with lived experience of mental illness to mentor and support other children with similar experiences. They raised $30,000 from a generous live audience, which will contribute to changing the trajectory for these children.
The impact…
Due to a recent and significant grant for their leadership programs, the Satellite Foundation will be delaying the running of this course until next year. This grant is for a greater spread of services and crucial organisational development and restructuring. This is an amazing outcome and we will be reporting on the Leadership Program when it runs next year.
